Kommentar
Um die Kernanliegen der anti- und postkolonialen Bewegungen zu verstehen, ist eine historische Einordnung des europäischen Imperialismus unabdingbar. Hier beginnt das Einführungsseminar bevor es sich folgenden Fragen widmet: Was ist Anti- und Postkolonialismus? Warum und wie haben sich diese Denkarten entwickelt? Wie lassen sie sich soziologisch einordnen? Im Kern der postkolonialien Theorie steht das Konzept der Unabgeschlossenheit (continuity), das Argument, dass koloniale Verhältnisse bis in die Gegenwart und Zukunft existieren. Anhand der Texte von Schlüsselautoren*innen diskutieren und analysieren Studierende diesen Perspektivwechsel, der es ermöglicht, soziale und politische Fragestellungen aus einer neuen multipolaren Perspektive zu betrachten. Im Rahmen von interessanten Fallstudien werden gelernte Konzepte und Theorien kritisch hinterfragt und angewendet.

In order to understand the core ideas of the anti- and postcolonial movements, a historical contextualisation of European imperialism is essential. This is where the introductory seminar begins before addressing the following questions: What is anti- and postcolonialism? Why and how did these ways of thinking develop? How can they be classified sociologically? At the heart of postcolonial theory is the concept of continuity, the argument that colonial relationships continue to exist in the present and the future. Using the texts of key authors, students discuss and analyze this change of perspective, which makes it possible to look at social and political issues from a new multipolar perspective. Within the framework of interesting case studies, learned concepts and theories are critically questioned and practically applied.
