Comment
This course aims to raise awareness of and offer strategies for dealing with the challenges of translating from German to English. This course will cover such topics as: tense & aspect; conditional situations; reported speech; translating the German man, erst and eigen; adjectives vs. adverbs; translating adjectival, adverbial and participle phrases; and word order and sentence structure. Students will also work on a short translation project, in which they will have to apply what they have learned. Important note: If you are studying according to the 2021 regulations, you CANNOT register for a module exam (MP) in this course. You can only receive a participation grade (qT) in this course. Entrance requirement: OPT score 75+
