Around 45 years ago, Iran took a special path to develop a theocracy. The seminar first examines the legal and political peculiarities of Iran's system of government and the unique theological development of Iran’s theologians within Shiite theology. In recent years, the lines of conflict between certain population groups and the regime have become much more acute. The seminar will address the various current conflict issues in Iran (e.g. conflicts with young people, women, or minorities) and discuss the future prospects of Iran’s politics and society.
