Comment
Spanning the past 100-ish years, this seminar will take a closer look at both the history of feminism(s) and the manifestations of feminist concerns and gender dynamics in British drama. Students will read three plays connected to first-wave, second-wave, and fourth-wave feminism. These readings will provide insight into feminist concerns and gender issues of the early and late 20th as well as the 21st century. Highlighting the historical and social contexts of the plays as well as the interconnections of social -isms, students will learn how to approach dramatic texts from an intersectional feminist perspective.
