Kommentar
In this course, students will explore the social practices involved in creating, maintaining and contesting memories of the past. By the end of the course, students will know more about the country's diverse commemorative landscape and will be able to critically examine and explain some of the latest debates involving challenges to the history curriculum in school districts and the removal of Confederate monuments in the South. As we learn more about this rich topic, all four language skills will be developed and practiced in context. Entrance requirement: OPT score of 75+ **This seminar is taught in-person on campus. Students must be vaccinated, recovered or negatively tested for Covid19 in order to participate.**
