Comment
The course is intended for students in BA Anglistik/Amerikanistik in Q-Phase as well as MEd programmes. “I am no good at learning languages. The teacher never really explains it properly. Why is it that he/she doesn’t do what I say?” Have you ever considered that we might have a different approach to learning and different beliefs about who we are and what success and intelligence mean to us? This course looks at the connection between learning and mindset, beliefs and strategies and is especially suitable for students who want to embark on a career in education and want to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges teachers and learners face. Participants should have a very good command of English and a keen interest in the topic. A willingness to challenge one's own beliefs as well as active participation is essential. The course will include presentations. Course requirements: DPT 90+ points. Attendance is compulsory. Places for this course will be allocated through a new course allocation program (Moses by MathPlan), which the University of Erfurt is currently testing with selected courses [https://kursverteilung.uni-erfurt.de]. You can log in via Shibboleth and indicate your preferences from 26 September to 4 October. After that, the spots will be distributed by 7 October at the latest, taking all submitted priorities into account, and the allocation of course spots will be published in the course allocation system.
