Why do some social innovations transform entire systems, while others, equally promising, fail to scale beyond pilot projects? This course is designed for entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, and students who have developed impact-driven initiatives and seek to implement, manage, and scale them within NGOs, public institutions, and hybrid organizations. It is led by a practitioner-researcher with lived experience of both failure and success in building social innovation projects, offering grounded, real-world insight. Through cases from innovation hubs across Africa, participants explore how social innovation ideas emerge, adapt, and scale across contexts. The course equips learners with practical tools to implement and sustain impact initiatives, manage social change processes, and transform projects into movements capable of driving systemic change. Adopting a story-driven, practice-oriented approach, the course situates learning within real-world impact journeys - from early-stage ideas to scaling and, in some cases, failure. Participants engage with these narratives and apply them to their own (organisational/project) contexts through guided exercises, implementation frameworks, innovation challenges, and scaling roadmaps.
